Well,
thank goodness for the NY/DC shuttle! After speaking
this afternoon at an event in the capital, Michael is
in the studio with Soledad, where she speaks to both
him and Nic Robertson (on that oh-so-familiar rooftop
in Baghdad) about the drop in the latest casualty
figures out of Iraq.
Length: 5:10
Anderson
(in L.A.) talks to Michael (still in Paris covering
the RWC) about
the reasons the insurgency happened.
Length: 3:46
Michael gets a colorful background as he reports on
the results of the England/France semifinal from
Paris. (Still, how weird is it to see him identified
as CNN
SPORTS CORRESPONDENT in the
transcript?)
Length: 2:13
(this one
also has a transcript!)
This
is an interview done with Michael at the "Asian" Thai
restaurant in Paris during the Rugby World Cup
coverage. "My Last Meal" is an ongoing feature of the
magazine -- who would you want to have join you and
what would you order for your last meal...
Michael is
in the CNN Paris bureau, and still having a fantastic
time covering the World Cup. He speaks with Michael
Holmes about the semi-final matchups for this
weekend.
Length: 4:23
(this one
also has a transcript!)
Anderson
asks Michael to define some rugby terms, talk a bit
about his own playing days, and yes, tell us what
really happened to his nose!
Length: 5:19
(this one
also has a transcript!)
Michael is
in Marseilles, France, covering the Rugby World Cup.
First, an overview of this weekend's quarter-final
games and a brief chat with the coach of the Fiji
team. Then, Michael Holmes and Hala Gorani chat with
him via broadband from outside a pub in the city.

2007 Rugby World Cup
For three
weeks in October 2007, Michael became a sports
correspondent,
covering the Rugby World Cup for CNN International,
first from Marseilles and then Paris.
His unique perspective as a former pro rugby player
plus his incredible enthusiasm for the sport
radiated through all his reporting, most of which was
done
from various locations where fans were gathered to
watch the matches.
(No dull pressboxes for Michael!)
He filed 48 reports for International,
plus an additional 4 that aired on Domestic.
Many thanks to Délie (in Paris) for the original
clips she was able to grab
and upload for me, and to Mavis (in Atlanta) for
getting final versions for me.
