Site
Info
I am often asked
why I started this site. It all started when I saw
this
report one night on
CNN. There was a level of honesty about what was
happening in Iraq that we were just not hearing from
most of the media at that time. I recorded it from my
DVR, converted it, and sent it to some of my friends.
And then again with the next one (while that one was
airing, I got online and subscribed to
Time in order to read
his reports) and the next one...
To answer some common questions: I do not work for CNN (if
I did, I would be upgrading the early videos to the new
conversion standards!); I have met
Michael, but
I cannot advise you on how to contact him other than by
using the CNN comments area (although
unfortunately I have no idea whether they pass that
stuff on to him). I think he's an amazing reporter;
judging by the mail I receive, a lot of other people do,
too. Not just here in the States but all around the
world.
The vast majority of videos aired on CNN. They are archived
as iPod clips. These clips are playable on QuickTime7,
(free for Mac or
PC users.) Each
entry has a link that leads to a new page containing the
clip and the transcript for it. Permalinks are also
available.
All the categories have RSS feed tags; please note that
whenever I add old material I will mention it in the News
section, since the logged date will not trigger an RSS
notification.
Feel free to contact me with any
questions about the site, especially if you have
problems with any link or clip.
There is also a separate blog where I will
post quick comments and updates if news breaks when I am
away from my home computer.
