Michael
Ware and James Swanick ... making it big in
America.
A COUPLE of former Courier-Mail journos continue to
take big strides in the US - none more so than former
news reporter turned CNN war correspondent Michael
Ware.
Ware
is fast earning a reputation as the "Crocodile
Hunter" of US media.
Known for his jocular, no-holds-barred style, Ware
recently appeared on US political talk show Real Time
With Bill Maher on HBO where he regaled a panel of
pundits with his tale of being kidnapped three times
while covering the war in Iraq.
It's understood that host Bill Maher was so enamoured
with Ware's gripping account that he is submitting
the episode for Emmy consideration.
And now, on the back of that appearance, the bustling
newsman has signed with an agent. Guess who. None
other than former scribe turned PR man James
Swanwick, who runs the US-based PR firm Crocmedia.
"Crocmedia will introduce him to Hollywood talent
agents, all chomping at the bit to sign Ware to book
and movie deals," Swanwick told Confidential.
"Americans can't get enough of his 'telling it as it
is' style and consider him one of the few 'voices of
truth', having spent more time with American soldiers
on the front lines than even he can remember."
Ware also hit the headlines with last year's
high-profile love triangle involving newscaster Lara
Logan.
